Attention Flaggers
I thought flaggers might be interested in what Chip Rogers (R - Woodstock) said regarding a redistricting plan supported by Republicans that egregiously carves Clarke county in half for political purposes:
"The wisdom of the chamber of commerce, given the makeup of the chamber of commerce, may surpass that of the commissioners," Rogers said.
In this instance, the Republicans in the Senate do not agree with the non-partisan, liberal, elected local government in Athens/Clarke County. But once a principle like this has been breached the Republicans have shown their true colors. What the Chamber wants, the Chamber gets. Today it is an extra Republican senator in a liberal Democratic county. Tomorrow it could be new commercial development next to your property in a conservative Republican county.
Hopefully the voters of Georgia have been warned.
